Patek Philippe Ref 3579-1A, stainless steel cushion shaped, starburst blue dial, 1974 Mint
Reference 3579 was produced for a short period from 1969 to 1974, and it marks a departure from the traditional 1950s-60s Calatrava designs with its cushion shape case. The Ref 3579 is rumored to have been produced for the Japanese market with as few as 200 pieces made, and small number in a blue dial. This is also the only Patek reference that was only offered in stainless steel, a metal that was not often used by the company who generally uses gold and platinum. This is a truly unique watch that brings a level of innovation & creativeness to a legendary brand looking to reinvent its identity.
