Reference 2509 is among the most iconic Patek Philippe Calatravas, because it was one of the company’s first screw-back waterproof models.  This dressy model was typically manufactured with the 12-200 or 27-400 movement, but less than twenty of this watch were also produced with the Cal 27AM-400 antimagnetic. Almost all Ref 2509 amagnetics were made in stainless steel, making our yellow gold example exceedingly rare.

This watch is in excellent condition, with the case retaining it’s original proportions and a hallmark visible between the lower lugs, under 6 o’clock. The dial is nearly perfect with good raised enamel and perfect hour marker dots. The hands and crown are original, and the movement is free of scratches and marks. The movement runs well.

This Patek 2509 comes with an 18 ct gold Patek Philippe buckle and Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives confirming its production and sale in 1965.  Notably, the antimagnetic movement is specifically mentioned in the archives.
