First-generation Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711/1A-001, produced in 2007, and preserved in outstanding, fully original condition. This example is accompanied by its original certificate, presentation box, and full set of brochures, and was serviced by Patek Philippe in May 2025, remaining under factory service warranty.

The present watch belongs to the earliest production of the 5711, distinguished by its highly sought-after Mark I dial, identifiable by its subtle graphic traits and proportions that enthusiasts widely regard as the most faithful modern interpretation of the original Ref. 3700 “Jumbo.” The visual balance of the dial—combined with the thinner profile—gives the watch a notably purer, more restrained presence than later executions.

Powered by the Caliber 315 SC, this first-generation 5711 benefits from a slightly slimmer case profile than subsequent versions fitted with the 324 SC, further reinforcing its closer kinship to the original Nautilus design language.

Importantly, this reference predates Patek Philippe’s transition to the proprietary Patek Philippe Seal in 2011 and therefore bears the Geneva Hallmark, a detail increasingly prized by collectors as a mark of traditional Genevan watchmaking standards and historical continuity.

Production of the 5711/1A-001 was  limited to two years, with estimates suggesting fewer than 1,000 examples were made before design revisions were introduced—underscoring the rarity of early, untouched specimens such as the present watch.

The case remains unpolished, retaining crisp lines and original factory finishes. The movement has been professionally serviced by Patek Philippe, while all visible components of the watch remain 100% original.

With the 50th anniversary of the Nautilus approaching, early examples of the 5711—particularly first-generation pieces with Mark I dials, Geneva Hallmark movements, and complete provenance—are increasingly recognized as cornerstone collectibles within the Nautilus lineage. This is a refined and historically significant example of one of Patek Philippe’s most important modern references.
