Patek Philippe Ref 2295 R – “Eiffel Tower” Hausmann Dial
Patek Philippe Ref 2295 R – “Eiffel Tower” Hausmann Dial
This is a very fine and exceedingly rare 18K rose gold reference 2295 ladies timepiece, manufactured by Patek Philippe, Genève circa 1952.
This ref 2295 is fitted with Patek’s caliber 7-70 18 jewel nickel finished lever movement. The movement is stamped with the Geneva Seal. It is fitted with a monometallic balance adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism and five positions, a self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, and a micrometer regulator.
The Pagoda style “Eiffel Tower” Patek was an iconic reference in both ladies and men’s model for Patek. The men’s model is ref 2441 and both models went into production in 1948. The original “Eiffel Tower” Patek is a favorite reference among collectors, and the reference was the inspiration for the Limited Edition ref 5500 which Patek released to celebrate the opening of their new production facility in Geneva in 1997.
Of the ladies reference 2295s, reportedly only seven (7) were made in rose gold, with the present model the only one we know of also with a rose gold dial and the co-signature of the prestige retailer “Haussman & Co”, Rome. This is truly a one-of-a-kind ladies watch.
The original dial is untouched, with raised enamel signature, applied gold Roman, baton and triangular numerals. The movement, case, dial, and 18K rose buckle are all signed. The case was polished prior to acquisition but retains original sharp edges. The piece was serviced by Patek in Geneva, 2008 (w/ receipt) and not worn since. 28x16mm rectangle.
