This is an extremely rare and iconic vintage Grand Seiko. The first with the Grand Seiko design rules created by Taro Tanaka.
GS44 was produced only between December 1966 to February 1968. This example is from December 1966, so it is one of the first watches with Diashock printed on the dial. This Diashock version of GS44 is one of the most sought-after Grand Seiko vintage references.
Unpolished, 100% original, the gold medallion is also perfect.
It is one of the largest vintage GS with over 38mm in diameter, very large for its time.
The watch comes with its original GS buckle. The plexiglass has a small chip that is hard to see, but we ship the watch with a new-old-stock period crystal should the new owner decide to change the glass. Replacement crystals on this watch are impossible to find.
