Years in development, this model has a totally unique digital jumping hour/minute mechanism with two window apertures for the hour and minutes at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions. A recessed silver running constant small seconds subsidiary dial is at 6 o'clock, with black Arabic numerals and markers, and a white gold indicator hand with a diamond-shaped counter balance. It includes a 36-hour arched railway-style up/down power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock, and the 12.9 mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.
This A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk 140.025 has a mechanical manual winding A.Lange & Sohne Caliber L043.1 movement. It's rhodium-plated with Cotes de Geneve embellishment, and it's constructed with 68 jewels, 415 components, and a shock absorber mechanism. It includes a swan neck index regulator, a straight-line lever escapement, and two screwed gold chatons. Included are a shock-resistant screw balance, and a monometallic balance spring that adjusts to 5 positions. The balance wheel has opposing weights, and it has a precision beat-adjustment system with a lateral setscrew and a whiplash spring. It includes heat-blued screws, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz). The A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk 140.025 watch was introduced in 2009 and it was produced until 2014 in a limited edition of only 200 examples.
