This is the very beautiful and sold-out Angelus Chronographe x Massena LAB, monopusher chronograph with pulsometer and asthmometer scales. Angelus launched their original doctor’s watch in 1960s with a unique dial that presented a dual scale for reading the vital signs doctors need during patient examinations: a pulsometer – to measure the patient’s pulse – and an asthmometer – to record their respiratory rate. This model, made in a very limited edition of 99 pieces was a modern re-interpretation of the original as envisioned by famous dial designer William Massena. In addition to the dial, the movement of the watch is a remarkable achievement from THA Ébauche – a collaborative manufacture of watch movements founded by some of the best-known names in independent watchmaking today, including François-Paul Journe, Denis Flageollet, and Vianney Halter.
This outstanding column-wheel movement, which is on par with chronographs costing multiples in price, features circular-grained, palladium-finish mainplate; Côtes de Genève stripes; palladium-finish and chamfered bridges; circular-grained 2N golden wheels; and high polished screws.
