| Last year, Parthian Watch Company raised $14,000 for Connections Mentor Inc, a New York City charity devoted to pairing mentors with children in the welfare system. This brought our two-year total to $25,500. We are again partnering with Connections to fundraise, with one lucky donor winning the Grand Prize on October 17, 2022. In-person fundraising events remain curtailed because of COVID-19, and the poor economy is making it harder to recruit and retain volunteer mentors to work alongside the young people. Everything is more expensive, especially gas, and people are reluctant to volunteer their limited time and financial resources. In response, Connections has ramped up mentor recruitment efforts, which requires vastly more staff time and organizational resources.
